I recently acquired a Kasparov Chess Shadow handheld portable computer, which I added to my collection of chess sets. I believe it dates back to the 80s or 90s. Despite being an older device, it's in excellent condition and only requires small batteries.
Compared to the Scysis chess computer I also own, the Kasparov Chess Shadow is much easier to handle and play. The buttons are user-friendly, and the computer offers a variety of levels for playing chess.
However, there are some downsides to this portable chess computer. One issue is the brightness of the LCD screen, which can be adjusted but may not be sufficient for optimal clarity. Additionally, selecting a chess piece and moving it to the desired location can take quite a while on this device.
