The Lonely Lady with Sleeping Soldiers

The battlefield was set, the armies poised to engage, Each player eyeing the other, ready to stage A contest of wills, of intellect and skill, To capture the king, to fulfill their will.

And in this grand war of chess, the black queen stood, A lonely lady, roamed the board, misunderstood, For while her comrades slumbered, still unawakened, She ventured forth, her presence unshaken.

The Sicilian Wing Gambit, a daring opening move, And the queen responded, with nothing to prove, Her path uncertain, her future unclear, Yet she marched ahead, without any fear.

As the war progressed, the queen remained strong, Her adversaries' pieces, still sleeping all along, And while they rested, she explored new ground, Her movement, her elegance, so profound.

But alas, her courage was not enough, For her opponents, they had played it tough, They had waited patiently, for their time to come, And with a single move, her fate was done.

The queen fell, defeated, yet still serene, For she had played her part, a noble queen, Her lesson taught, her message clear, To develop your pieces, and never fear.

And so, the war was won, the players parted ways, But the queen's memory, forever stays, A reminder to all, to strive for more, To be brave, to be bold, and never ignore.

For the Lonely Lady with Sleeping Soldiers, Her story, forever etched, in chess war folders.
